WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT COMMENTARY?

Something known to some, unknown to others, maybe for others something they heard but don't know exactly what it is. Scoliosis is a disease in which the spine deviates and/or rotates sideways from the normal vertical line. In very few and simple words, a "snake" that is created on the back of some people instead of the classic straight line of the spine. It can be classified as idiopathic, congenital, neurofibromatous and neuromuscular.
Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis can cause reduced scoliosis mobility, weakening of the muscles around it, respiratory dysfunction, chronic physical and mental pain.
The condition does not present specific symptoms, so early diagnosis is difficult. However, prompt detection and treatment are important as it is easy to miss the appropriate treatment time. When the scoliosis is in the early stages (mild scoliosis) the treatment plan is more effective in delaying its progression and/or reducing the curve.
The predisposing factors of the deformity are genetic and related to abnormalities of the connective tissue, musculoskeletal and nervous system during development. The incidence of scoliosis is highest during adolescence 10-14 years in girls and 12-16 years in boys depending on the acceleration in growth velocity. The goal of a rehabilitation program is to stop the progression of the deformity or correct the curves that are present, preventing or weakening the effects that appear in adulthood.
Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis is an important pediatric care problem because the deformity can progress and cause chronic pain, affect breathing capacity and quality of life.
Physical activity should be encouraged in boys and girls with scoliosis. The earlier the diagnosis is made, the more important is the intervention in the progression of the condition. Improving physical condition has an impact during adolescence but also in later adulthood.
In particular, core stabilization exercises (middle abdomen) of the body are effective in controlling its movements to maintain a neutral position in the spine, which reduces back pain as well as body aesthetics.
Finally, in all cases, the reduction of pain, the improvement of the quality of life and the image of the body are important. Learning to control muscle asymmetries leads to better posture.
